And in most situations, that would prove true, hehe! 
But there's a big problem with this specific thing....
F hates masks.
Not only because they are too gorgeous to cover up, obviously, hehe! ;D
But F cannot stand anyone not being truthful or themselves. And they SUPER don't like hiding behind masks: both in an actual and literal sense.
So, as you might imagine, the idea of a masquerade ball freaks them out and makes them really uncomfortable. But in this particular circumstance, they know they have to go. And so, they opt for a part mask. The whole thing is made out of fillagree, so lots of holes and easy to see through, but there is still that dash of fun with a plume of feathers and probable the most gem-encrusted mask of the lot, lol!
So yeah…you also get a little sneak peek into F's inner thoughts concerning the upcoming masquerade ball...And I think this might be my favourite mask of the bunch just because of the intensity of feelings that formed it!

She's highly claustrophobic, and having her face covered would trigger a panic attack (she's yelling in my head that she doesn't have panic attacks, she just hates feeling closed in). I'll have to head canon my way through playing the ball because of that--maybe she took a muscle relaxer before going, lol.

2024-07-31 21:49:31 +0000 UTCOne of my detectives also hates hiding behind masks (and she's on the A route... RIP girl) so I had a similar 'covers-very-little' design in mind for her mask! I'm glad she's got that similarity with F, especially since Farah is her bestie route. Side note, F's dislike of masks brings me all the way back to, like, Chapter 1 of Book Three, where the gang shows up as MC and UB!BFF are facing down the werewolves. I'd played through that section with all kinds of different combinations (I wanted to see what the other characters said to each other when coming out of the woods, minus the one vampire that is already with MC at that moment). I remember F and M, or at least who I assumed were F and M (their characterization is so good that it's not difficult to tell who is who when they're talking, even if the dialogue is unlabelled!) complaining about the masks they wore to avoid breathing in those crown imperial smoke grenade type things. I remember one instance where F was not my BFF but was my LI or something and they complained about suffocating in the mask, with M snarking at them ("Suffocate on what, the air you don't need to breathe?") so now having this connection is so cool to know looking in hindsight. F didn't just hate that mask because they had to wear it to keep the stinky plant away, they also just hated it because they hate masks! Your characters are so well-detailed and developed, I just love noticing those small bits about them! Makes the whole series very replayable!
