There’s many important characters and plot lines that you’ll miss if you skip ANY part of sao and a lot of things won’t make sense if you go straight to Alicization. It’s true that s3 is peak and It’s one of my favorite seasons in all of anime but EVERYTHING before it is what makes it and saying that it’s just throwaway slop just isn’t true whatsoever. Gungale and its plot line is great and the Phantom Bullet arc is very heartwarming and you’re gonna love it :)
