I'm a dub person only for this anime. and at first I wasn't too into the sub, but I am extremely enjoying and appreciating rewatching fullmetal sub with your reactions :) you're killing it man!! Glad you keep watching it however you choose, only way to enjoy it

2022-07-30 07:10:45 +0000 UTCThe correct way to watch an anime is watching in original WAY they did the series. you watch dub or sub, that's your preference, now when you create a topic where the subject is "the most correct way to see a product from a certain country" it's certainly in your mother language with subtitles as close as possible to the original language. I would be even more radical, learn Japanese and watch in Japanese, but subtitles are obviously the most accessible way, i'm not dumb. A JAPANESE product made by Japanese people, designed in JAPANESE with mannerisms, narrative style, etc., everything in Japanese has to be seen as close to the original as possible. English voice acting SEVERAL times corrupts the personality of characters, changes the tone of things said, felt, thought and so on.

The anime was intended for japanese VAs and a lot of funny reactions like the classic japanese "eeeh" for example that nick found funny would be lost. I don't mean to say dub is bad but the sub will always be my personal preference as its jokes are funnier (especially when they rely on the japanes language) and the emotion in key moments comes across way more.

Bleach, Baccano, Code Geass, Naruto, One piece, Fairy Tail and Fullmetal all better in Dub. Do to the wonderful cast!

Japanese is a much more expressive language than English but it does not take away from the viewing experience. That is an opinion, having seen the dub and some scenes in sub I think the dub is more enjoyable. That is just my opinion though.

If you watch this one English dub you will never look at other English dub anime the same way. I also have to note that I personally feel that the English VA really put a lot of emotion into their performance vs the JP in my opinion

There's something special about this dub that somehow finds a way to immerse you in the story in a way the sub doesn't.

The emotional scenes are done so well and hit a lot harder when spoken in your native language. Just watch the flashback scene in this episode in dub and you can feel the emotion in Edward a lot more.
