Strategically and logically speaking that would be his best course of action. If Vlagg was telling the truth about not wanting to ruin peace negotiations I would want to make sure that the person who could very well ruin those negotiations won’t spark war as soon as he get home. Especially if I didn’t want to just kill him and hide him. its kinda like you borrowed something precious from a friend and broke it and returned it broken and now you are enemies kinda deal
