Both of my kiddos this week ended up with high fevers first it was my five year old now it is my three year old I thought that because she was nursing she would skip the fever part of whatever virus they caught from my older daughters school but now she’s warm too. Gave her some childrens motrin to help bring down her fever and when she’s sick she won’t eat much. Nursing is important during this time of fever as the breastmilk coats the little tummy and helps keep the Motrin from causing stomach discomfort. (Always consult your pediatrician about what medications and dosages are safe for you and your child! )
Skin to skin contact with child with fever helps but is not foolproof. Fever reducers may be necessary but always consult your doctor.
A wet room temperature or slightly chilled washcloth can be placed over forehead to help with headaches and fever. (keep airways child’s nose and mouth clear for breathing always)
The more exposure to people your child has the more often they will catch viruses or bacteria infections. We live in a heavily populated area so we are exposed to sock people who spread their germs quite often.
We had to miss dance and karate and centella missed 4 days of school this week.
We hope you are doing good and are well. Be safe for it’s flu and Covid season again 🤦♀️
