All it takes is one baby to cry or looking at one picture of your baby and this can happen. The natural let down response of the human milk duct responds to sounds and images much like oxytocin. My advice is whether you’re pregnant and expecting, nursing a newborn or toddler, nursing pads are a must!
I had a mishap one time at the DMV when I just had my baby. When pumping I always had trouble pulling the milk so I didn’t think it would be any big deal not to wear nursing pads. My baby was asleep in her stroller as the baby across from me started crying.
Next thing I knew the mommy across from me was looking at me funny. I looked down and was drenched in milk! This was incredibly embarrassing and stressful plus it ruined my nursing shirt!
I also recommend bringing a change of clothes for not only yourself but your baby as well. Explosive diapers happen quite often with newborns!
You never know what will happen when you’re out and about with a child especially a baby in diapers so as a mom you must be prepared! I will be doing a bit about what to pack in your diaper bags for successful outings with small babies soon!
