One thing us mamas have to deal with are baby fevers. No I’m not talking about the fever that mothers have to have another baby I am speaking of actual fevers. When toddlers have fevers it is very frustrating and upsetting but this can happen at any time for any reason when a child is accidentally exposed to a virus or for other reasons. Always speak to your doctor if you’re concerned for your child’s health and speak to your doctor anyway just in case these are only my opinions and information from research that I have done myself never to compete with your doctor‘s orders.
Sometimes babies just don’t feel well and this can also happen from playing too hard on a hot day! Heat exhaustion is a real problem for people that live in high temperature climates such as ourselves. If you didn’t already know skin to skin contact can lower a high fever as well as adjust a baby or child’s temperature to help regulate and relieve fever symptoms. There are times that this will completely help a fever I have noticed breast-feeding my baby (toddler but she’ll always be my baby!) when she is not feeling well helps tremendously to soothe discomfort helps with the crankies and it also helps with fevers associated with teething and viruses. Although this is not a fool proof method it can help give a faster response to bringing a fever down along with Dr. ordered over-the-counter medication‘s safe for your child’s age and weight.
Contrary to popular societal belief skin to skin contact even at a toddlers age or a little older is beneficial to the child. Remember the phrase “human touch”
Human touch can heal premature babies A simple hug can save depressed peoples lives, human touch is a therapeutic approach to many different ailments of the human body.
With COVID-19 😷 in full action we have come away from these practices and a lot more depression and mental health issues (I’m going f**king crazy! 🤯🤪) have started to arise within our communities.
Our children are our most important futures and they need us as parents to be there for them so please don’t forget to hug your child today! (Just don’t squeeze too hard they might pop! )
Tell them how amazing they are and how much you love them because we never know how long we will be around in this beautiful world.
