Eating heart healthy foods is important for parents and children. Walnuts for DHA, oatmeal is incredible for milk supply, large multicolor raisins to eat a rainbow (but make sure to chop them up for the kids or halve cook till extra soft as these can be a choking hazard if not used properly), cinnamon for blood sugar control and flavor. I add lots of choices from hemp seeds to dried cranberries fresh strawberries and blueberries, maple syrup, honey (only if child is over 1 years old and pediatrician rules out any allergies for safety) with all these choices it gets the kids involved preparing their oatmeal to their liking which is not only fun but allows them to make healthy choices for themselves. I drink a small cup of green tea for myself to boost immune system and give me a bit of energy for the day. Caffeine is safe for the breastfeeding mother in small amounts. Please check with your pediatrician what ammount is safe to consume for you. Oatmeal is wonderful for helping a dwindling milk supply and it adds a healthy kick for a beautiful day with the kids. Walnuts also add protein as does hemp hearts and these can by found at any health food store near you as well as Costco. 💕
