Thrush happens...

Being in a humid environment and having done lots of swimming in the ocean and in pools while in Mexico my nipple area being constantly wet or moist has led to the possibility of a slight thrush infection I wanted to share these pictures with you to show you what it looks like and when you should actually go see your doctor especially if the nipple is sore or itchy this is a sure sign that it could possibly be a thrush infection starting and if you catch it in time you can clear it faster once the infection gets too bad it is extremely difficult to get rid of this problem always discuss with your doctor the best treatments for you as a Breastfeeding Mother. The right nipple is an example of what the start of a thrush infection could look like and the left nipple is a normal nipple used for breastfeeding. The last picture is of both breasts as you can see the redness on the right breast and flaky itchy skin. Thrush is an easy infection to get if you don’t keep the nipple area dry and can possibly be from the babies mouth as well yeast forms in moist warm environments and in a Thrush infection for baby this can also be found as a diaper rash as well as in the mouth of the infant or child there are special anti-fungal mouthwashes and anti-fungal creams that your doctor or pediatrician can prescribe to clear this infection up quickly and efficiently. Praying that none of you get this because it can be quite irritating to the sensitive nipple areas and some people are more prone to getting these types of infections as well so even when taking precaution it can happen if a person is more susceptible to yeast overgrowth. A good way to help slow a yeast or thrush infection and also prevent recurring yeast infections is to stay away from carbohydrate foods that turn into sugar in the body as well as fake sugars and sugar substitutes and refined sugars.
