Talk to the Audience?!? - October 2022

We've reached the end of the month, which means it's once again time for another installment of our community podcast. Join us as we discuss the newest episodes of season 34, a fully playable version of the Waterworld parody seen in The Springfield Files, Vice's new documentary on The Simpsons, and Vulture's new ranking of every Treehouse of Horror segment to date. And, as always, we read and respond to your questions and comments from the most recent round of episodes. We swear on Ray Jay Johnson's grave that you'll enjoy this episode!

Was it even a contest between Franeknweenie and Paranorman??????? I feel as though the Patreon subscribers here have pretty good taste.👍 And I never vote yes or no out of guilt Bob, you guys %99 percent of the time have tastes I agree with. And I deeply respect you guys no matter what direction you go in, even if I hate the animation or film in question.

Congrats on the move! Washington’s great

That Drew Barrymore cameo was the most shameless bit of star fucking I've seen in years. And what's with so much Marge in these new episodes? Making Julie Kavner talk this much should be considered elder abuse.

Near Dark is on the Criterion Channel right now

Henry, as a former Pacific Northwest liver, I can offer the following, which you probably already know, but in case not, I really wish I’d known these things before moving: - Don’t bother with an umbrella, the first rainy day will just obliterate it. Invest in a solid raincoat with a hood instead, and also “water proof” is different from “water resistant.” Go with “water proof.” - Do not purchase a wool coat no matter how nice it is. (Moreno wool socks, though, are useful!) - The winters kind of suck, but the summers are the most beautiful summers ever, and remembering that makes the winters feel better. - Top Pot donuts makes top-tier cake donuts. -Seattle public transportation (at least in the twenty-teens) was very, very nice and efficient. Unrelated to Seattle: I’m relieved about the polls! I DO usually get in late and end up voting for the most popular or second most popular thing because I enjoy participating, but also don’t want to be the lone weirdo who’s like “YES. ‘ROVER DANGERFIELD.’” I’m relieved to be free of this burden.

It’s currently part of the 80s Horror collection on the Criterion channel. Easily one of the best vampire movies ever but it’s a shame it’s often so hard to find.

If there is one reason to watch Near Dark, it would be because of Bill Paxton's performance.

Riley Hall

Congrats on moving. On behalf of Washingtonians I welcome you and your husband.

Aidan fleming

It basically plays like a DVD menu so I don’t recommend it

Bob Mackey

Congrats on moving soon guys.

There is a Larry the Looter game! It’s inside Virtual Springfield though so I don’t know how easy it is to access these days

I watched the Lisa the Boy Scout episode and it was like you guys said. Clever idea, but not many laughs. I enjoyed it overall. I also looked up Jennifer Hudson's version of Memory and it's good but holy shit does the CGI look even worse than I remember.

Also, if you come to Portland you can check out all the Simpsons street names and the bridge named after Flanders.

Welcome to the Pacific Northwest, Henry! You'll have to go to PRGE next year.
