Just want to shout out one of my top 5 episodes, “Wet Painters” where Mr Krabs has them paint around his first dollar with paint that never comes up. When they accidentally create a paint bubble and spongebob says “I don’t think this bubble can get any bigger” they cut to Patrick holding an air pump attached to the bubble who says “nonsense!” and starts inflating it more. Genuinely some of the best comedy I’ve ever seen.

Another great episode! Two tidbits from a mega SpongeBob fan: 1. Kaz did work on the first movie, providing the redesign for King Neptune, according to Derek Drymon. 2. Yes, Diggs Tailwagger was a great pilot, and even included additional writing from Stephen Hillenburg himself! One of the few things he did after leaving the show. Sidenote; Drymon made another pilot, Danger Planet, that would make for a good What a Cartoon segment, since you've previously done Korgoth of Barbaria. It features Master Shake as an arcade cabinet, you can't go wrong! Keep up the quality content, hopefully with more SpongeBob in the future! Despite what some may say, there ARE great episodes beyond the third season.

"Chocolate with Nuts" has some great material but the screaming Doug Lawrence fish is just lame and you can see it coming from a million miles away.

I don't have a lot to say about SpongeBob (it's fine), but I definitely echo Henry's declaration that the Lilo & Stich series is pretty gay. My kids recently went through a Stitch phase and as a result I watched some of the animated series on Disney + as I had never really seen it before. Kevin McDonald's Pleakley is definitely presented as gay and I have to believe anyone who watches that show has a head canon in which Pleakley and Jumba (the big alien who created Stitch) are a couple. It's actually not a bad show that's pretty funny and does its best to look like the feature film despite obviously not having the same kind of budget. It did bring back the entire voice cast, if I'm not mistaken, so it's exceptionally well-acted. Definitely not the worst thing my kids have made me watch.

the Krusty Krab Training Video has always been my favorite, actually made a point to tape it which I almost never bothered to do with TV shows. too many quotables from that episode to even count

Riendonut

my fave SpongeBob is rock bottom, and that episode where patrick and him ran away because they thought they were thieves and accidentally popped the ballon.

Frank Grimes

Top episodes of Spongebob for me The camping episode “Suds” (Don’t know the name but) IMAGINATION! And of course cause I Work in pizza making “the Kristina krab pizza! “

I always loved when the show would get really weird and surreal and kind of dark. They were never afraid to take it hard in that direction which is something I always appreciated about the show even as a kid. Stuff like SB129, or Dying For Pie. With that in mind Rock Bottom and Graveyard Shift are probably my two personal favorites. Rock Bottom is solid gold from front to back. Graveyard Shift has some of my favorite expressions of the entire series. Plus that ending shot from Nosferatu is so creepy and comes out of nowhere. I really respect the nerve of them to know they were going to confuse every kid out there with that ending and still go with it.

i stand by there are 1 or 2 sponge bob episodes from season 5 and 6 that where just left over ren and stimpy shorts that went just rewrite it a bit and now it's sponge bob also it felt like the staff got really over worked with i think season 6 was 22 half hour episode which equals 44 eleven minuet episodes

Hey, I just want to say i really enjoyed the episode. You briefly mentioned phones and ferb which I think could make a soiled episode. Not just in terms of the fact that the show us incredibly important not only to disneys television animation but animation of the last decade But also because it's just a very well written show with really good musical numbers one of the creators dan povenmier was working on family guy before and he directed many of the early musical numbers on that show like the first road to episode and the episode you did for wac several years early. My best advice start with the second season where the show found its footing and put into the mind that the creators had been pitching the show for 15 years and is much more in the style of 90s cartoon network shows minus the gross out stuff and much nicer in tone. And don’t watch the marvel episode as a comic book fan both me and my sister didn’t like it that much and you can tell it was less an idea the staff had and more disney mandet but the star wars one is actually pretty good. Ps i don’t think you should call that show ugly when such shows as the brothers cramp or coconuts fred fruit sailed island where also on at the same time

The first three seasons of SpongeBob are golden, but season four is good too. There are some bad episodes but for the most part it keeps the spirit of the first three season. Some good episodes from that season are "Fear of a Krabby Patty", "Selling Out", "Lost Mattress", "Have You Seen This Snail?" and "Wishing You Well". For season five there more bad episodes, and the good episodes aren't as great as the first three seasons or the good episodes in season 4, but there's more good episodes than bad. Season 6 is when I feel the show became bad. Henry said that the close up shots in SpongeBob aren't as disgusting as Ren & Stimpy, well they do get just as disgusting in season 6. And the show itself gets disgusting as well. When Vincent Waller became showrunner after the second SpongeBob movie the show started to get much better.

Hey guys, did you know that Raid Shadow Legends is one of the greatest online games ever, it's so good that it'll keep your face from getting any uglier.

Great episode as always, fellas! I think what really strikes me in comparing the classic seasons to current Spongebob is that the really good stuff was way more verbal than physical in terms of comedy. All the best bits in these episodes are extremely quotable, smart funny lines while current stuff is so extremely physical to the point of disregarding the other types of comedy. Not to say it’s inherently bad for Spongebob to get hurt or make funny faces, but it’s a direction that feels a bit misguided considering that verbal jokes are so prominent in these earlier episodes. It’s just an observation I’ve noticed! I’m sure the crew now is doing a good job, but I have a soft spot for the first three seasons precisely because of how quotable they are! Also, as a child of the 2000’s, I can tell you straight that no one of my generation has nostalgia for Out of Jimmy’s Head! We have SOME standards
