What A Cartoon! - The February 2020 Schedule

We've hit the shortest month of the year, and we're rolling along with more podcast fun to make these 29 days worthwhile! Our month begins with a discussion of an absolutely silly Yu-Gi-Oh! series alongside a VERY special guest, followed by a close look at the Netflix series, Hilda. For the second half, we'll visit Goof Troop, one of the Disney Afternoon shows we haven't explored, then close out February with an extra-long preview of our latest What A Cartoon Movie!—the perfect chance to get an even bigger bite of our super-size podcast series!

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's - "On Your Mark, Get Set, Duel!" [Patreon Date: 2/3/20 - Free Feed Date 2/10/20]

Yes, we just had a Yu-Gi-Oh! episode recently, but it was so much fun we had to jump into an even more ridiculous take on card battling--this time, it also involves motorcycles. And there's another good reason we're returning to the Yu-Gi-Oh! well: for this episode, we'll have the great LittleKuriboh as our guest! He's the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Abridged Series—perhaps the best way to take in this anime—so it's sure to be a fun discussion about melodramatic, spiky-haired card teens.

Hilda - "The Bird Parade" [Patreon Date: 2/10/20 - Free Feed Date 2/17/20]

We're cannonballing into the pool of prestige TV with a request by one of our highest-level patrons! Based on the Luke Pearson graphic novel series, Hilda follows the exploits of the titular hero and her deerfox companion through the Trolberg region, where many twee adventures await. It's been enough of a hit to already get renewed for a second season on Netflix, so we can't wait to jump in and see what all the hype's about! (Also, this IS a pro-bird network.)

Goof Troop - "Nightmare on Goof Street" [Patreon Date: 2/17/20 - Free Feed Date 2/24/20]

It's time to report to the Goof Troop (ba dooh ba dah bop bop a loo bop)! We've covered plenty of Disney Afternoon shows on nearly two years of What A Cartoon!, and since we did an in-depth discussion on A Goofy Movie in 2019, it's about time we circle back to where it all began. With Goof Troop, Disney looked back to the more suburban Goofy shorts of the '50s and decided to make a spiritual reboot with a '90s edge, leading a very Simpsons-y take on this classic character. We'll discuss it in full, and hopefully get to the bottom of how Pete ended up with a total fox (cat?) like Peg.

An Extended Preview of Feburary's What A Cartoon Movie! [Patreon Date: 2/24/20 - Free Feed Date 3/2/20]

Stick with us through February as we close out the month with a 45+ minute free preview of this month's episode of What A Cartoon Movie! (The subject matter of which is still TBA as of this writing.) If you've never heard us talk animated movies before, you'll love to hear a chunk of a larger discussion that often lasts for four hours or longer!
