I think my opinion on season one has definitely softened a bit upon revisiting it too - it's fun and weird to see again, even with all its problems and without any of my all-time favourite episodes. I'm very much anticipating getting to Krusty Gets Busted (and even Some Enchanted Evening)

2020-01-26 00:56:48 +0000 UTCIn the season 15 episode "Bart-Mangled Banner," there's a joke about the Simpsons being renamed the Simps when they become immigrants (it's a weird episode). I always thought it was just a joke about how foreign-language names were sometimes simplified at Ellis Island, but maybe it's a reference to the first season credits too.
