Watching this episode as a twelve year old I found the image of Fries' hand against his wife's cryotube as he passes out haunting. I'd never seen something so traumatic happen on a cartoon, let alone one playing after school. The show didn't shy away from the horror of each villain's origin, like when Clayface was forced to drink the Renew-U or Harvey Dent's explosion. And I'm glad you mentioned the score on the show, Shirley Walker's compositions really brought each episode to life. Clayface, Joker, Two Face, and The Penguin's themes were particularly memorable. We really didn't know how good we had it then.
