Methinks they went with "the War of 2012" for Conan's injury as a reference to the (actual) War of 1812. Although, maybe not, because then why wouldn't he say "twenty-twelve" instead of "two thousand and twelve"... hmm.

Like Bob, I watched so much of Futurama when it was on adult swim that I've backed away from it in recent years and have just started watching it again because it's been on cable so much recently. I may have gotten a little sick of it, but it doesn't change the fact that Futurama is one of my favorite shows and I really think those first four seasons are fantastic. That's not to say there aren't highs and lows, but it's a damn good run of TV. I'm not sure what your plans are for the future, but a dedicated Futurama podcast certainly pairs well with The Simpsons, and given the poll results for this holiday episode, it sure seems like your listeners will embrace it. That said, I don't blame you guys if you don't want to commit to a long series. I don't know how others feel, but if you did a season of Futurama and then did a season of King of the Hill, for example, before moving onto season 2 of Futurama that would help alleviate burn-out, especially if you need to really jump back into these series and get re-acquainted in a way you don't have to for The Simpsons.
