They also just kinda suck. Even if they land right next to you, they're most likely just going to wound you. And if you toss one into a room it kicks up so much dust that you can't see anything for a couple minutes. They're really only truly useful for keeping heads down, and dislodging enemies from cover.

2025-08-13 05:20:50 +0000 UTCThose men are all gone now. This was filmed in the late 90s and 2000, and was released in 2001. The last member of Easy Company passed away in 2022 at the age of 97. It is very common to keep enemies who surrender prisoner. In fact it is expected. While at the time it wasn't necessarily a requirement, it is now codified in the Geneva Convention and the International Laws of Warfare that surrendering enemies are to be taken prison, provided medical treatment, fed, and treated with dignity. However on D-Day the paratroopers of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions were instructed to take no prisoners, as they didn't have the infrastructure yet to transport them or hold them. Which is why Spiers (allegedly) killed those prisoners, including the American that Malarkey met who had joined the German Army in 1941 because of his German heritage.

2022-03-02 18:46:26 +0000 UTCwhy the germaan were there is because they were POW:s (Prisoners of War) either surrendered or got taken by force. Unfortunately they were executed, which is illegal, but not an uncommon ocurrance
