2022-01-07 02:08:12 +0000 UTCThey don't say it in the movie, but my understanding from the comics is that the reason why others don't eat/drink the heart-shaped herb to gain the strength of the Black Panther is that 1. they have cultural rules that they all respect, but 2. only those of royal blood can drink it. It is poison to everyone else. So the heads of the tribes can do it (that's why they asked for challengers of royal blood), but all the tribes (except the Jabari) were happy with the previous king T'Chaka and T'Challa. I'm guessing the reason about the royal blood is that they're the oldest bloodlines and probably have a tolerance against the ill effects of the herb. But, that's just a guess on my part.
