Zoro did like what Luffy and Shanks did to animals and seakings. I think he wouldn’t be able to put fear in her heart if he didn’t have the power like Luffy/Shanks have.. He probably purposely did it with her because he didn’t want to keep fighting her to cut her for real like leaving her bleeding to death.

Zoro tends to act by a code similar to how a samurai would, (like on skypeia telling ohm after he'd bodied chopper that he doesn't normally swing his sword for things like revenge, but this might be an exception etc) so I think it's more about if someone is a challenge on his level or a fighter to begin with. He's used to back of his swords on regular civilians, etc so I think that's the 'soft' spot Sanji meant. He's got an honor code. Too bad for Monet it just meant she got stunted on lol. Luffy got raised by savages, so he just doesn't seem to care. 😂

It usually comes out from the forehead area with some sound so you can tell when it's happening besides animation, like those times.
