When that moment comes for Tsukishima, ooooh boy... Also, keep in mind that Karasuno right now is a different school than it was when Akiteru (Tsukishima's brother) attended. It was a powerhouse school back in the day, so there were just more players on the team and more competition to make the starting lineup.

Any move that makes the ball go from your hand to the floor is a kill. Yes, spikes are called kills. Hard blocks are also thought of as kills. Basically think of it as someone slamming the ball to the ground, that's a kill.

Tsukki's brother was on the team, but there's only so many spots on the bench so he was too far down the roster to be suited up. You can tell that he is a good player by how he returns the ball into the hoop, but Karasuno was just so stacked at that point he was essentially practice squad.

I think a "kill" can be used pretty loosely... I generally think of it as finishing a point, either through slammin a spike or stuffin a ball. Whatever kills the ball's momentum by hitting the court. Also side note, Ushijima is the top ace in their prefecture, he is in the top 3 of Japan. Love the reaction fellas!
