July 2024 Prompt: It Came From the Ice (Viral/Brutification/Hairy/Growth/Muscle)
Added 2024-08-02 22:11:19 +0000 UTCIn the frosty heart of the Arctic Circle, scientist Dr. Carlos Mendez huddled within his makeshift lab. The middle-aged doctor was surrounded by gleaming equipment and scattered notes that looked starkly out of place amidst the ancient ice. Carlo's dark eyes were bloodshot from long hours of poring over samples and data, his unkempt beard a wild tangle of frost-kissed hairs. The silence of the sole doctor's lab within the arctic desert was a stark contrast to the chaos of the distant outside world, a world that was slowly coming apart at the seams. The ice outside his shelter was melting at an alarming rate, revealing secrets that had been buried for millennia.
Secrets changing the very structures of the world.
Rubbing his eyes, Carlos sighed. A glance at his watch telling him the time. He followed the usual ritual as he worked to turn on the barely functioning TV, needing to check what was happening across the world. Even as Dr. Mendez knew it would only be getting worse.
The flickering screen came to life, displaying brief images of a world that was going to Hell. With the ice melting, a long unknown virus came exposed in the water, its effects apparent as the infected began to change. Men everywhere growing out in size and strength, their bodies bulging out with dense muscle as body hair thickened to almost an animal pelt in thickness. The brows grew out into a perch as tusks poked out from their thick lower lips. The bodies morph into something not quite human anymore. Various religious organisations had called those infected "Behemoths," after the biblical creatures of myth. Whether they meant that as an insult, or as something divine couldn't be found when said leaders hulked out after becoming infected themselves. The remaining news agents spoke of the chaos these brutes brought with their newfound power, Grappling each other as they fought against, or fucked. Buildings broke like tinder houses as the behemoths broke through, other beast men tossing cars like toys to get at the remaining small men. The world had gone mad, and Carlos knew he was in a race against time to understand what was happening before it was too late.
Carlos had eventually isolated the virus from the samples he managed to collect from the ice. It was unlike anything he'd ever seen before. Microscopic spores with a peculiar resilience that seemed to thrive in the warming environment. It was spreading rapidly, and the only thing keeping him safe was his isolation and the frigid temperature. The exhausted doctor had to find a way to reverse the effects, to save humanity from this primal fate. His mind raced with hypotheses and potential cures, but his resources were dwindling. Not helped with almost everyone on his team had become infected, thankfully leaving the doctor to work before they could infect him, or worse, destroy the research.
With a jolt of caffeine and determination, Carlos dove back into his work. His mind was a whirlwind of genetic sequences and potential vaccines. Each failed experiment brought a new insight, a new piece of the puzzle that was slowly coming together. He worked tirelessly, his only company the ever-present sound of cracking ice and the occasional distant roar of a behemoth. The lab had turned into a bastion of hope amidst the chaos of the frozen wasteland outside.
Working in an exhausted state, worse when during one of the sporadic news reports he watched shocked him. Carlos had caught sight of one of the gigantic men tossing cars as he flexed. The huge silver-haired giant on screen would not have been that much of a sight compared to the other brutes, but even with the Behemoth's shifted face, Carlos recognised his father. So shaken by what he saw, the isolated doctor didn't notice when the coffee he drank had brushed against one of the virus samples he was working on.
Days turned into weeks, and subtle changes began to manifest. Carlos' exhausted muscles tightened and grew out with new energy, his skin thickening with his body hair thickening out, mirroring the shaggy coat of a bear with silver strands mixed against his brown hair. Carlos attributed his increased strength to the harsh conditions and the physical demands of his work, not noticing the first signs of the infection taking hold. His appetite grew voracious, his growing body craving more and more sustenance to fuel his transformation as he emptied the rations into him. The cold no longer bit at him, and his body radiated a comforting warmth that began to melt the ice around him.
The doctor's mind grew more unfocused on his research, serums he had studied for years were not foggy to his mind. The prim scientist's strict ethic is being pushed out by a new, primal instinct stirring within him. Carlos felt the strange, all-consuming lust, a hunger that grew stronger with each passing day as his clothing tore apart against his bulging body. Rather than working on a cure, Carlos found his mind distracted by drifting thoughts of his long-gone colleagues, the men he had known as equals, now picturing them as potential mates, feeling the urge to claim and dominate them. It was an alien sensation, one that both terrified and excited him, made clear as his hairy knuckled hands reached to grope his growing bulge that tore his pants. The doctor knew he had to push these thoughts aside to work on finding a cure, but the siren's call grew louder with each passing moment. As his body grew out. As his now tusk teeth poked out from his thickening bottom lip. As his brow pushed out like a Neanderthal.
The world's hope for a cure faded when the arctic lab exploded apart. The massive brute that had been Doctor Carlos Mendez jumped out. Dense muscles and powerful body heat leaving a trail of sweat and steam. The former scientist now focused on breaking to get to other Behemoths, needing to breed and grow more and more.
