My favorite cosplay so far, I'm here for this "POWER"ful volume, as Denji not only takes on the Bat Devil, but his OG dream of touching the feminine hills gets granted...but then where does our boy go from there?!
It's been so much fun revisiting this series and remembering and re-theorizing now that I've had some time to sit on the series, and I can't wait to talk about it with you all!

Thank you so much - I LOVE this cosplay and will probably do it at a con if I can! And yes, the idea that Denji gets ‘what he wants’ only to realize it’s not what he built it up to be and then yessss, Makima immediately exploits that moment! *wrings hands* I love that Denji was capable of realizing the deepness of the journey vs. the destination, too! He’s such a great character to follow in this series! And yeah, poor Aki - his job is not easy in this series! Himeno is so great to have back! I love that she’s…”grounded” but also a little crazy! She also clearly has no problem with exploiting what she thinks will persuade men. And yessss, Denji is truly the anti-protagonist and I love Fujimoto’s deconstruction of the main character archetype with his character! And yes, the hotel arc was so much fun in this manga and it has me really hyped for volume 3! Thank you for the comment!

This volume it's a little bit of a trip for Denji, who accomplishes one goal, and cups a feel of Power's boobs, only to find it completely empty and not at all what he built it up in his head to be. And, of course, Makima comes and exploits that moment of vulnerability. BUT, before that happens, I have to say that Denji actually understanding that some dreams are fun because of the road to get to them actually got me by surprised because of how deep that emotion runs. It's not that I think Denji incapable of deep thoughts, but the articulation of that one was what surprised me, considering his lack of life experiences. And the contrast between Denji's deep words and his more unorthodox dream is simply great. Gotta say, Aki having to bribe Power and Denji to do certain things is hilarious. He really got a hold of two raucous toddlers, didn't he? Himeno is as great as I remembered, and it's great to have her back. She is sensible but at least a little bit insane, what with the way that she just offers Denji a kiss as a reward in the end. Denji really said "I only save women" and that's hilarious. He is our protagonist, and the hero of the story so far, but he really doesn't seem to care too much about being either of those things. He is selfish and if he can't sympathize or being bribed he won't act; and yet, his actions make perfect sense and are, if not inspiring then real in a very nice way. The good thing is that all the characters are having a nice little vacation in a nice hotel with undefinite vacation time, no need to worry about of them xD

2025-11-28 05:04:20 +0000 UTCThe first season ends about half way through volume 5 I believe chapter 39. So happy you’re reading CSM but also sad knowing you won’t get to experience my favorite arcs until I’m 35/36 I just turned 33. Can’t wait for you to experience the movie, I’m patiently waiting.
