The season is starting out strong and this episode was adorable! Natsume gets "hired" to help repair a yokai's precious treasure, with the stakes being high and Natsume double-dipping in learning not only how to help out the yokai but also how much he's grown and is now wanting to help his foster family, The Fujiwaras!

I loved this episode so much! Thank you for the comment and kind words! This season has been SO good so far already - Natsume is such a great role model; I love him as a caretaker! Natume not needing to be asked to do something or get involved says SO much to his character and I love it! Awwww, I love that with the dub and that line too - Natsume going from someone afraid that his time in the Fujiwara’s home to someone that loves this home and is working to make it better? GROWTH and we lvoe to see it! Soooo excited for this week to come!

There is such an excellent example in this episode of Natsume providing (and wanting to provide) active caretaking. The way it is constructed where it is NOT Toko asking Natsume for help or enquiring whether he would be interested. Toko simply talks about something she would like to do in the future, a small problem she would like to solve, and Natsume not only goes out of his way to help, he also gathers information and expends a bunch of effort and time to contribute to caring for Toko, for his family, for his home and his memories. She did not need to ask. And that is so important. And I really love the way they made this come through so well in the dub, too, with Natsume going: “It’s nice to contribute to the home I love.” Such a wonderful episode! 🥰 Looking forward to next week! 💙
