We're not even to the halfway point yet, but the moments between Daddy Jing and the Scorpion King? Guxiang and Cao WeiNing? WEN KEXING AND ZHOU ZISHU IN THE LAST FEW MINUTES OF THIS EPISODE?! *rabidly tears apart chair*

Yes! I remember that from episode 12! Poor WKX! Him and ZZS sharing the allegations! Ahhh, that could be with ZJ and Scorpion King setting that up! I can see that 100% - especially with the reasons you gave in this! Ooohhh, I did get them mixed up! Oh no!! Well…alive…for NOW. Oohhhhhhh, and thank you for the clarification on the glazed armor! That helps! I could see that with Xiaolian; of course, the question is…what now with her? Oh yes, YBY’s tsundereness is mainly just old boomer-style! 😛 Ah, thank you for bringing back up Changqing! I appreciate that, too! *prayer hands* I just LOVE THAT FINAL SCENE! Soooooo much is so well done! I love how sincere that “It’s real” line is in this scene. It is frustrating because WKX DID open up about his feelings being sincere - run with it, ZZS! And yes, WKX thinks that as soon as ZZS finds out he’s the Ghost Chief, he’ll hate him… But yes,we’re making small baby steps in progress! 2025-05-20 16:55:13 +0000 UTCWKX was compared to a woman before. Back in episode 12, when he let Cheng Ling go back to the Five Lakes Alliance, ZZS called him a mother who worries too much. So now he is compared to a mother, a wife (by ZZS) and an old lady (by YBY) lmao This part is never explicitly explained, just how I read the scene, but the way Scorpion kills that guy in this episode, and ZJ gets angry, and then Scorpion gives him that knowing smile. Later, when they talk, they don’t even argue about it. It feels almost rehearsed? Like it’s just a performance so ZJ can keep his hands clean, while still getting rid of whoever he wants? Also, the other "son" who was with Zhao Jing is the same one who used to bully Chengling. I think in the last episode, you mixed him up with the disciple who died protecting Gao Chong, but that’s not him. The bully guy is still alive and now hanging around with ZJ. ZJ even mentions him in the same breath as Song Huairen (the one Scorpion killed for the glazed armor). It’s interesting that Scorpion seemed to know Song Huairen pretty well, but had no clue this guy was also working for ZJ until just now. Says a lot about how ZJ doesn’t fully trust Scorpion. I think ZJ never gave his glazed armor to Gao Chong. His piece was “stolen” by Song Huairen during the massacre at his manor in episodes 5 and 6. But now we know Song Huairen was working for him the whole time, so clearly that theft was staged. Gao Chong asked Shen Shen for his glazed armor, not ZJ, because everyone believed ZJ’s glazed armor had already been stolen. About Xiaolian, the old couple kidnapped her while the hero conference was still going on. So my guess is, they were planning to use her to pressure Gao Chong into handing over the glazed armor. Since the beggar gang leader was still at the conference, he probably hadn’t been able to check in with the old couple yet to confirm if they’d succeeded, which might explain why he didn’t bring her up during the argument. Maybe he was planning to use her as leverage after the conference if things didn’t go his way. But then Gao Chong killed himself… and now they’re just stuck with her, not sure what to do next. I love how, despite YBY's grumpy old man demeanor, it's clear that he cares for both WKX and ZZS. He picks up on the subtle moment when WKX sadly looks at ZZS while they're talking about mortality, sensing the unspoken tension between them on this topic. So he decides to bring it up with ZZS right after, pushing the conversation forward. YBY mentioned the name "Changqing". We have heard this name before in episode 4. I'm quoting WKX here: "Rumor has it that Rong Changqing, the former Magic Craftman, created three masterpieces in his life. Namely, the great Wild Land, the Dragon Back, and the White Clothes (ZZS's sword)". The last scene is hands down my favorite Wenzhou moment. There’s just something about the vulnerability, the tension, and the unspoken words that makes it so powerful. They’re making small strides toward good communication, even though it’s still far from perfect. WKX looks at ZZS like he’s afraid to blink and lose him, reaching out to him with clear distress, and all the playfulness is gone. His sincerity shines through. But I think ZZS still can’t see it because of his own self-hatred, denial, and pride (he refuses to be treated differently by WKX because he’s dying, it's sad but understandable). He also can’t understand why WKX is acting this way. WKX is genuine in his feelings for ZZS, but he’s still hiding so much and is unwilling to open up about his identity. ZZS was the first to open up back in episode 11, and he has been waiting for WKX to do the same. So, there’s frustration that colors the way he perceives WKX’s emotions. It's like, “If you really like me, why aren’t you opening your heart to me? We don’t have much time left.” But we know why WKX can’t do it, he’s terrified that everything will end the moment ZZS finds out the truth. But this is progress, because ZZS doesn’t walk away anymore. He doesn’t storm out like in their past arguments. WKX asked him not to, and ZZS reassures him that he won’t. He’s even more patient with him now. That whole speech absolutely wrecked me: "You annoy me and I'm furious with you. But even so, I'm going to bring you tea, put you to bed, make sure you're warm and comfortable, and beg that you'll start valuing your life, and let me into your heart. I won't die before I truly know you, before you trust me enough to open up. Not even the gods could take me away before that happens" ZZS DO YOU EVEN REALIZE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING AAAAAAAA

I love that along with the pink Gu Xiang has a lot more flowers, giving her a much softer and innocent look; fitting for the potential feelings blossoming in her for Cao Weining 🥺😍 I love you making the Alluring Ghost the Emperor from Mulan with that "You don't find a guy like that every dynasty!" 🤣 Perfect quote to describe Cao Weining in my view! Also, Liu Qianqiao and Gu Xiang's relationship is such an interesting and sweet one. Very much that of an auntie/big sister looking after the younger female relative, and encouraging her just the right amount while also teaching her about life. For cosplaying Tao Hong with the rice balls you could get little beanbag or plushie rice balls to chuck at people 😂 I was dying from the idea of imagining Wen Ke Xing dragging Ye Bai Yi behind his horse instead of Chengling doing his training 🤣 The whole moment though with Chengling's training is definitely strict versus spoiling parent. The cinematography of the scene with the three ghosts in their private room really is disorientating, but it adds so much to the atmosphere of them conspiring together. I just knew Ye Bai Yi's boomer energy would grow on you so much! 🤣 But it does make me think, does that make Wen Ke Xing the equivalent of a Gen X with how they don't get along? 😆 Your suggestion of Zhao Jing being like he's Scar from The Lion King taking over the Pride Lands truly is a good comparison. It really is a perfect parallel for those two scenes. I now want to see fanart of Zhao Jing and the Scorpion Sect in lion form 😂 I love that both Zhou Zishu and Wen Ke Xing moved at the same time to help Chengling 🥺 But they do really tease us with Ye Bai Yi's past and his disciple. Your shock at the way Scorpion King questioned about the young man filing Zhao Jing's nails 😆 They truly are the toxic version of Murder Husbands. Drunk Wen Ke Xing is adorable 🥺 But yeah Gong Jun really does such a great job at acting drunk. But Ye Bai Yi becoming a bit reminiscent of his past just makes you more intrigued about his past, while also adding to his old man air of getting drunk and becoming nostalgic. I had to giggle at you almost not breathing with that scene of Zhou Zishu leaning down to Wen Ke Xing 🤣 It is amazing how much we got in that whole scene, censors be damned. Every time I watch it that whole scene just fills my heart with so many emotions from them both. It's truly so romantic 🥰 Reminds me a lot of The Untamed with Wei Wuxian putting a drunk Lan Wangji to bed 🥺 Hey, considering in a previous series (The Apothecary Diaries) a go match preceded some 18+ action that brought about a pregnancy, I can see how the Scorpion King leaning over a go board like that could also be read as similar motions to a much more adult activity 😂 Completely agree that it can be hard to say something both self-deprecating and complimentary, but Ye Bai Yi's quip of how he hasn't been strangled to death yet is equal amounts of both. Perfectly acknowledges that it's not just Wen Ke Xing who has found him irritating, but none of been powerful enough to go up against his martial skills and win 🤣 I love that out of all of this episode they removed "for you" in regards to Wen Ke Xing buying the Wolong Nuts. Yup, sure, those two little words about buying nuts for someone isn't safe but comparing Wen Ke Xing to a wife and the whole last scene with the looks and talking about opening your heart? Yeah those bits are totally not romantic at all 🙄🤣
