I'm working on editing the Isopod icon pack to make it compatible with the new wallpaper. The next update will include a few more icons and provide PNGs.
Little sketches~
As you know, I really like drawing crustaceans and I've drawn isopods a few times in the past!
I've always wanted to draw many~~~ isopods in one canvas.
There are so many fascinating isopods that I want to continue this series later. There are so many varieties!
I chose my favorite, the Cubaris sp. There are over 100 varieties and various morphs.
I'm sure many of you are familiar with the famous Rubber Ducky.
Most are under an inch tall and very cute.π
When I drew the isopod before, I just drew its eyes as round circle, but for this drawing, I changed the shape of its eyes a bit.
If I drew it too realistically, it might look a little angry, lol. (Personally, I think that would have been cute, too!) I was thinking about how to draw it, and that's how I ended up with the current design.
Although they're crustaceans, they live on land, so the public perceives them more closely as insects/bugs. But when you draw them... they definitely look a lot like shrimp. π
Which isopod do you like the most?
Murina and Ducky.. are the most famous in Cubaris sp. They also have many morphs.
Personally, I like Panda King the best. The animals with bands are so cuteπ
I think isopods have a lot of cute names. I especially like names related to food.

While doing research about them, I read some posts in the Korean community, and it seemed like they were quite popular in here π I also saw a panda king morph called Tapir, and they were cute too.

2025-09-21 18:40:41 +0000 UTCI know someone who raises them, so I've seen pictures and heard stories about them, so I understand how important the environment is to them. (Just like fish and shrimp! I've heard about the fungus π) I'm glad I drew some of your cubaris isopods π The Ember Bee is really cute too!

I used to have Duckys but sadly the colony crashed and I lost all of them. But I adore Cubaris, almost as much as Armadillidium hahaha. Though my fave is currently Ember Bees.
