Added 2024-11-05 04:52:57 +0000 UTCI've been spending a lot of time with my dog 'Yallet' lately.
Yallet is 10 years old now and he's been diagnosed with IMHA (Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia).
He suddenly collapsed in July... It's been about 100 days now.
He's had two emergency blood transfusions and hospitalizations in the meantime, but he's been fighting very bravely :)
The sketch above was probably drawn about two months ago. The sketch below is more recent.
My family has been asking me to draw a lot of dogs for 10 years, but I haven't drawn him often. Because every time I drew it, I wasn't satisfied with it. I don't know why but It's hard to express his special cuteness...Maybe my drawings don't express my dog cute enough. - It's not that I'm not confident in my drawing, I mean, I just wish I could draw my dog better 🥹👍
And I know how to do it. I need to observe him more and draw him more. I hope to share a better sketch next time.

Thank you for your kind words. My puppy is doing well today. Yeah, that seems too personal... When I drew my Corydoras, I felt relaxed, but I was observing visually, and my puppy is an animal that is closer to me in terms of senses. I will practice a lot so that I can draw better!

I think when it’s your own pet and the art is so personal, it is much harder to capture the look and personality that you want to express. But like you said, the best way to work on it is to keep drawing more! ✨ And these sketches you shared here really are so cute and precious. 💖 My favorites are the upside-down sleeping ones in the pink. 😍 I hope your pupper is still doing well!! 💜
