[wip] Wild pigeon
Added 2021-12-21 13:10:44 +0000 UTC
I've had a few opportunities to spot pigeons this summer, as a pair of pigeons have been frequenting my apartment's balcony. The nest is probably built somewhere else, I'm guessing they used my balcony as a toilet. I struggled a bit with them cleaning their poop every day lol.
( I didn't know that bird poop could have different colors. I thought it was mostly white. The last bird droppings I removed were purple! I'm super curious what they ate)
Nevertheless, bird watching is always a pleasant experience.
It is now forbidden to feed them where I live, but in the past I liked to feed the birds in the park.
It's a study of pigeons.

They have a well-developed chest and short legs...
I like how they are rounded when sleeping or sitting on the ground, maybe I'll have a chance to draw that later.
Originally, I was going to draw only 9 animals, mainly for the variation of rock dove, but the more I learned about pigeons, the more I was overwhelmed by their colorful appearance.
So I focused on the appearance of wild animal.
There are over 300 wild pigeons, and I picked 21!

In the picture, I drew the same size, but the victoria crowend pigeon is quite large.

Thanks! wallpapers will upload soon.
Oh my gosh, I'm sorry you had that experience. It's just too hard to imagine about lice... yeah, I was worried every day that they would lay their eggs under the air conditioner this summer, Next year I hope they build their nest in the tree. It will be good for them too😂

Oh be careful if you have pigeons or doves living in your air conditioner! They can have lice, and they spread to your home, and are very hard to get rid of. We had this problem in my house, it was very awful... I didn't know about this before that.
Your drawings are so lovely, as always, sorry for commenting on this subject 😓

Yes, first of all, I plan to draw more birds in the series in the future, but I am also considering iMessage sticker pack and themes.

Oh yes we have rock doves too! They are perhaps the most successfully spread pigeons around the world.

Oh yes I also used baking soda. I think the problem is that it hardens over time. Other places are fine, but they use our air conditioner as a playground, so that was the problem😂 Perhaps the best way is to see the places the birds visit every day. Bird watching first and cleaning as soon as they leave!

People don't always know pigeons and doves are the same. They must be easy to breed into different colors. These are cute and colorful!
Bird poo is very acidic, so a cleaner that's opposite works best to break it up. Homemade kinds: baking soda + water (shake it up in spray bottle) or carbonated water (club soda).
