Project Seasons Heart Development Update 1

I have yet to talk about this project publicly but I am working on a project called Seasons Heart: Chromia! (logo is temporary) It is a visual novel featuring my Seasons Heart ocs.

I consider this my "first attempt" at a big project featuring these ocs, and somewhat experimental. Mainly focusing on their high school lives and life before my main cast all meet one another. Because of that I consider this more of a prequel/prologue, as it sets up a lot of characters and plot points that i could further develop in a potential future vn I make.

In these updates I'll include some sneak peeks, like sprites and cgs. This is the title screen and some of the default sprites for the more prominent characters. There are two outfits for present day Erika because I still have not decided which one I want to be his main design for this game. I like the short sleeves design better but the other one feels a bit more fitting for this version of this...

Also an idol group! The four of them are called Nebula Stars. Might make some alterations to their design in the future though. I made them for the narrative, but idk if they are actually gonna be that relevant.

Also included that last Keita sprite because I think its funny but also yeah she does have a graded Wigglytuff that she flaunts. I had a scrapped storyline that led to Erika and Keita having a Trading Card battle but it felt kind of unnecessary and doesn't really add anything outside of giving Keita more scenes. The Wigglytuff is kind of the remnants of that, but you will soon see.

I started working on this a few months ago but took a little break to work on school/commissions/my webcomic. But I have come to continue working on this project.

My general progress on the project so far listed below:

Concepting - 100% done

Script - 50% done

Visuals - 20% done

Programming - 5% done

As for music, I plan on using stock music and maybe my own music if I am able to get my piano to connect to my laptop (It used to be able to but it does not anymore, I don't know why and its been really irritating). If I wound up making a bigger, more ambitious visual novel I do want it to have an original soundtrack however. Whether it be commissioned or composed by myself or a mix of both.

Also once this vn is in a playable state I am hoping to allow members access to early versions of the game! And early access to the actual game once I have it completed.
