Your comment at 22:32 about the background being weird is one of my favorite Easter eggs in the entire show. Think back to how the series started—with Jimmy running a scam with the SKATER brothers. Now, just after they give us Mike’s speech about the "Bad Choice Road," explaining how small choices lead to worse and worse outcomes, in the background, you can literally see Jimmy’s journey—from that small-time scam with the SKATER bros to the broken “friend of the cartel” he has now become. How far down that road he has traveled... Masterful storytelling. Bravo, Vince!

2025-04-03 21:29:00 +0000 UTCThis episode is one of the best of the show! There are so many cool little things throughout (most of which I can't mention because of spoilers). I'd suggest watching this episode again once you finish the show. There are multiple connections that can be made with the rest of the show as well as with Breaking Bad! One element I will point out, though, because pretty much everyone misses this non-spoilery bit and it makes that final scene so much better. Notice when Kim gets up and decides to intervene? It's when she sees Jimmy is about to let Lalo look at his bag with the money. Kim, who is goddamn smart, realized that the 'World's Second Best Lawyer' mug is in there too and that it has bullet holes, and that if Lalo sees it there, in their home, there will be no way for Jimmy to continue hiding the fact he was attacked. It would literally rip his fabricated story to pieces. The director of the episode even mirrored two shots, one of Kim's eye peeking through the bullet holes on the mug and one of Lalo's face looking through the bullet holes on Jimmy's car, to tie these two characters together in multiple ways. That's about all I'll say. Good save, Kim! Showing yet again that she's #1. ;) I think even Lalo was a little impressed by her standing up to him.
