Jimmy really does put the ‘artist’ in con artist lol Even when he’s acting really greedy, fundamentally I don’t think it’s about the money for him; money is a rationalization; It’s really a kind of self-expression and fulfillment he’s seeking; Performing makes him feel good, it helps him soothe his painful emotions and low self esteem, it provides social stimulation and a creative outlet, a way for Jimmy to feel clever and in control; He can escape his own life and identity by living inside the fantasy world of the con and putting on costumes and personas; These elaborate cons really are like performance art projects “The play is beautiful!” lol
