2025-02-26 14:53:18 +0000 UTCI think Kim loves Jimmy so much because Jimmy is an incredibly devoted boyfriend who worships the ground she walks on and wants nothing more than for her to succeed. We know that Kim came from an impoverished background and worked her way up from nothing, so she sympathizes with Jimmy’s underdog nature, as she too has been underestimated and looked down on. I think she is so attached to Jimmy because he’s her number one cheerleader. It’s probably very intoxicating for someone like her, who did everything for herself and had no one on her side growing up, to have someone treating her like she’s the hero of her own story, the Atticus Finch figure she says she has wanted to be since childhood. It’s also another interesting contrast between Jimmy and Walt, in that Walt had terminal main character syndrome. Walt thought the whole world revolved around him, and treated all the other characters as NPCs in his story. Whereas Jimmy sees himself as the sidekick in his own story. To Jimmy, Kim is the main character, and he is just there to support and adore her. He is happy to be “2nd Best Lawyer.” He goes into law because Kim does, he goes into elder law because Kim tells him to, he goes into criminal law because Kim does. If Kim decided quit the law and run away with a traveling circus, Jimmy would do the same lol.

2025-02-22 19:26:57 +0000 UTCThe intro is a VHS tape that’s degrading because Gene is rewatching the tape over and over again, as he was in the first episode cold open; as the show goes on the colors disappear, there are more scan lines, and the image looks worse and worse, like an old magnetic tape that’s been played too many times
