Better Call Saul 3x8 Full-Length Uncut Reaction

I think the writers were clever enough to make it a mixture of both. Just to make the schrodinger's cat element of their relationship and Jimmy's fate even more mysterious and nuanced. Both Chuck and Jimmy acknowledged that their Dad wasn't a great businessman. And we did see Jimmy take some cash from the till as well as any unique looking coins so I think it's fair to say that he wasn't above taking money from his parent's business. Jimmy must have been up to his shenanigans (or should I say chicanery) from a very early age as Chuck surely wouldn't have immediately thought it was Jimmy if he didn't have some reason? Or maybe the resentment does pre-date Jimmy's antics and Chuck's just always envied his brother's personableness and wit?

Good points, but another element that you can gather from that scene is that Chuck might have been wrong about Jimmy stealing thousands of dollars from their father. From what Jimmy implies here, his father was fooled and conned by a ton of people over the years, and he lost a lot of money because of that. What Chuck considered to be money stolen by Jimmy is much more likely to be money their father gave to people over time. This is just another example of how perspective and bias can play a part in how one discerns reality. Chuck has been jealous of Jimmy for a long time, and when confronted with the fact that his father had lost money over the years, he immediately jumped on the train of "it must have been my brother". With all of that being said, it's nice to see Chuck look so happy and hopeful right now. Good reaction you two!

That scene with Nacho *slipping* the pills to Hector has gotta be the most intense thing I've ever watched :O Curious to know where you guys stand on the Howard/Kim argument. Both their perspectives aren't what I'd thought about in the immediate fallout of Chicanery, but it's interesting to see how they're feeling about the whole thing and each other. So Kim's plan with Gatwood Oil was to take a brief look and recommend another firm to take the case, but (I think after worrying about Jimmy saying "I'll do what I have to do to get my half") she decides to take them on herself, further adding to her already enormous workload. I don't know why I'd never grasped it before but the "flashback" intro is actually set during S1E10 when Jimmy goes back to Cicero. a) there's not a blueish tint and b) Marco's bag says Lake Michigan Standpipe which is where he started working after Jimmy went to Albuquerque. I think it's interesting to see the almost distain Jimmy has for his father's goody-two-shoes-ness and his willingness to take from him because of it. It's not explicitly stated (up to now at least) how the Dad died, but simply that 6 months after having to close the shop he died. I always imagined from a stress-related illness rather than suicide, but it's certainly within the realms of possibility. It certainly would go even further to explain Chuck's animus towards Jimmy if that were the case. Jimmy getting a taste of the reward of using the law as a weapon to help criminals... hmm sounds like someone we know XD And we also get Mike getting into business with Gus. And it all started so that he could ensure his money would go to his family. F you, Walter :) See yas next week :D
