Patreon changes 2019

What’s up, dudes!

Do you guys remember that time when I said that I was going to make some changes in my Patreon page? Well, it is time now. But, before I start to explain these new changes and updates in Patreon, let me explain my current situation that led me to this decision:

Before you read this post, I want you to know that I am very grateful for the support that you guys are giving me, even if it were for 1$ only. Despise the situation that I’m currently in in Venezuela, I’m trying to work very hard on what I love, and to keep a positive mindset despise that I’m living in a very negative environment [which is really hard].

So here we go.  

For those who don’t know, yet, I’m working as a graphic designer (for the fifth time) due the situation that is happening in Venezuela: the hyperinflation, the high prices of food (and the government still denies it), and the mistakes I made in 2017, all these things made questioned if working as a freelancer would be a good idea in a time like this, So many bad things happened last year.

But, despise of all this, the good thing that happened to me last year is that I found a job working in a big company called Ogilvy. And so far, the work environment is really nice; the relationship that I have with my other workmates is great, kind of like they are my second family in there; and I learned (and still learning) a lot of things in the company. One of the things that I learn to use is After Effects, something that I was never interested to use before, until last year. And so far, I like using that program. It seems that I’m going to stay in Ogilvy for a long time.

But, working in a full-time job has is prices: working in a company from 9 to 6 is taking a lot of my time to work in my art and comics and manga. And after my job, I get really exhausted when I come back home. On top of that, the public transportation is getting scarce every day. So, going back to my house is like an epic journey in a bad sense. The only moment I get to work in arts is when I wake up at 5 am, and I only have two hours, or 1 hour and half, before I go to my job. That’s the only time that I can draw.

With this tight schedule, I don’t think I can keep up the same pace and speed that I used to have when I was working on my own. With that said, I don’t mean that I’m going to quit drawing and close Patreon. What I’m trying to say is that I decided to make changes in the way I work with arts and Patreon.

For starters, from now on, the tier 1, The Fan (1$) will be only as a tip jar for everyone who is able to support me every month. The only benefit for this tier is that you will have Early access to see new arts and fanarts before everyone else.

HOWEVER, all NSFW arts and fanarts and adults comics/manga are free to watch. And since Tumblr is no longer accepts NSFW arts anymore, visit my Pixiv and my HF accounts instead. I upload NSFW arts and fanarts in those sites. If you want to know where to find me in these two sites, send me an email with the subject as “You Pixiv and HF accounts”

But, if you still want NSFW fanarts only in high resolution, I will put links or attach files (depends on how heavy the file is) in the posts to download them every month after the pledges are charged. However, this is only for tier 2, The Big Fan (3$), who can have the permission to download the files.

And talking about download files, if you also still interested in bonus arts (that is other versions of the same NSFW fanart) I will also put links or attachment files to download those files, too. But, this is only for tier 3, The Awesome Fan (5$). 

Vote in polls are free from now on. So everyone, patrons and followers can vote for the next fanart, something that I want to do it again this year soon. But, this time, I choose randomly the characters that I’m going to put in the poll

The NSFW speedpaint videos will be uploaded in my Patreon page only and only for tier 2 patrons can watch it, the Big Fan (3$). Make sure to verified your age in YouTube. These videos are hide from the YouTube search engines unless I put the link to watch the video on Patreon (or as I understand how this works; I’m not good at uploading videos on the internet, I need someone who can explain this).

NSFW WIPs and Sketches are for tier 2, the Big Fan (3$).

Last, but not least, the PSD files are no longer available from now on. Seems that no one is interested in this kind of things. In fact, I decided to eliminate the Super Fan tier for good.

And last, but not least, Patreon Commissions. I’ve been thinking a lot about this, but I’m not so sure if anyone is interested in this. If I’m going to open this kind of commissions, it will be for 4 conditions: 1) the lowest price I can go with in commissions is from 25$ to up; 2) that you have to wait till next month to receive your request after the pledges are charged; 3) it’s for one character only; and 4) it will be in digital inks; and 5) (this last one is a bonus) it’s for one patron only.

But, if you think that this is too little for what I offer; that you want more than one character or you can’t wait till next month, send me an email to brotherticoarts@gmail.com with the subject “Commissions” and we can talk about it.

There are other rewards that I’m thinking about to offer, but that’s something that I haven’t made up my mind, yet. 

And that’s it. I hope you understand my situation right now. And if you ever feel disappointed or angry about not receiving your rewards for this month, it’s okay to cancel your pledge. I understand. I just want you to know that my situation is not very good and I need all the help that I can find to help my family. Venezuela is living in one of the worst economic time in history. And I’m really worry that me and my family will lose everything that I have. I’m still praying that Venezuela will finally have its llanero dawn and become the great Latinamerica country that it used to be before Chavez.

I just hope that someone or something will help me in this harsh time.
