An Evening with Sinatra
Added 2023-08-09 21:24:12 +0000 UTCA night out on the town in Las Vegas is always fun, but it's especially so dining at Sinatra inside The Encore at Wynn Resort. Talk about really good food, drinks and fantastic service! It started with a Sinatra Smash, sweet & yummy, and honestly, I would have been happy with just enjoying the charcuterie board for dinner. But I had to try the veal parmesan and the chef's special, Fettuccine with Truffles. Oh wow! All of it was unbelievable. There really wasn't room for dessert, but who can turn down a chocolate fedora?! I mean come on 🤣 It's a good thing I'm local, so I could take home leftovers!
Sinatra Smash
Make Vanilla Simple Syrup: in a stainless steel pot, bring 1 cup water to boil. Add 1 cup sugar and 1 vanilla bean* split down the center. Lower heat and simmer until sugar has dissolved. Turn off heat and cool.
- Make Sweet & Sour Mix: Combine 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice with 1/4 cup vanilla simple syrup. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Put it all together: In the bottom of a shaker, muddle 6 blackberries and a mint leaf with 2/3 ounce vanilla simple syrup.
- Fill shaker 1/2 way with ice and add 2 1/2 ounce sweet & sour mix, 1 1/2 ounce Creme de Cassis, and 4 ounces Gentleman Jack Whiskey.
- Shake vigorously. Strain over 2 glasses of ice.
- Garnish with blackberries and mint leaves.
