Since I'm not a scotch gal, I'm not the best person to talk about this beautifully bottled whiskey. Royal Salute 21 Year Old Signature Blend was a very generous gift I received the week that Queen Elizabeth passed away and a wonderful tribute to such a historic figure. I did go back and forth with liking this one, as it was very smooth and not extremely peaty.
Master of Malt describes it as an absolute gem of a whisky. The 21 year old Royal Salute Signature Blend is a sophisticated expression. It's aged for a minimum of 21 years in honour of the 21 Gun Salute that is fired at the Tower of London for Royal celebration. The whisky is presented in a classic blue Wade ceramic decanter.
Cheers to a warm & toasty evening π₯ xoxo
Nose: Powerful aromas of sweet pears and citrus fruits are balanced with the full fragrance of summer flowers. Elegant aromas of sweet vanilla and a dry oak are enhanced with subtle notes of sherry and smoke.
Palate: The first sip releases sumptuous sweet orange marmalade flavours infused with fresh pears that burst across the tongue. The second brings a rich medley of spices and a nuttiness of hazelnuts that have an intensity before finally releasing a warmth with hints of masculine smokiness.
Finish: Long, sweet and fruity.
