If you believe in Kismet, this is a story for you. After an aprés-ski at Deer Valley, my friends wanted to head into downtown Park City to continue the festivities and head to High West Distillery, as well as visit Gorsuch, a really great ski boutique. But, I was ready for the hot tub and ready to call it a day. But, being the trooper that I am 💁♀️, I went along for the ride and I am SO happy I did.
We found parking, and as we were walking to Gorsuch, we saw Alpine Pie Bar! Now, for those that follow my Whiskey Wednesdays, you may remember Alpine Whiskey Double Oak that I reviewed back in 2021 or 2020. I absolutely LOVED it and drank too much of it! Their distillery is located outside of Park City. So, I walk in and ask about seating and the owner wife takes care of us. We immediately become best friends, in my mind 😂, and I told her how much I loved their whiskey. She does the Gin and her husband does the Whiskey. (He has deep roots in Kentucky). Why Pie and Whiskey?? Because, who doesn't love pie?! 🥧 They had just been opened a week and a half. Talk about timing. Well, suffice it to say, I bought way too much in their gift shop, but it felt so good to support a local family making great Whiskey. On top of being a smart business woman, she was super cute, has 3 boys and backcountry skis in the mornings. Jealous!
I tried their Alpine Utah Straight Bourbon Whiskey and Alpine American Whiskey. They didn't quite meet up to the Double Oak, but they were really good once I added a bit of water and ice. The Apple Crumble pie helped sweeten things up too! I did find out their Double Oak is a limited edition, so I need to run out and buy a few bottles at Total Wine before they are all gone.
Wish I was still up in Park City. They got 10 inches yesterday!
Cheers! 🥃
