Waiting

I'm waiting for you. Hotels are such interesting places. I'm so intrigued by them. I grew up in a typical suburban town and hotels were a luxury for us. Most of our travels were to see relatives and we always stayed with them. When we did make the occasional trip and stayed in a hotel, I was beyond excited, especially if they had a pool. I do suppose most kids were that way, but it always felt like paradise to me.

As I got older, of course, there were many more opportunities, but never anything too exotic, and if it was a really nice hotel, I usually didn't get to experience much of the hotel outside of the room. Las Vegas is on a completely different level. Almost every hotel here is far beyond those of my youth. I think I would have passed out if my parents brought me here as a kid.

I'm fortunate to have experienced so many of the beautiful suites and occasionally all the things these beautiful properties have to offer, from the great restaurants, to the pools and salons. Let's not forget shopping. Did someone say "shoes"? 

Just imagine that you've decided to go down and play some blackjack. I decided to stay in the room and get ready for dinner and maybe a show. You won a few hands and decided not to press your luck any further and you're happy that you won't be late for our reservations. You're strolling down the hallway and because you texted me on your way up, I've decided that maybe I won't get completely dressed. 

You walk in the door to find me this way. Absolutely not what you were expecting. You smile and now all those hunger pains are for a completely different reason. I pull your shorts over to the bed and you have just decided that room service is such a better option. Tonight, you're a winner twice.
