It makes me want to stretch out like a cat and relax in all that warmth. Growing up in California, I never got to experience a snow day when everyone gets a surprise holiday. I think that would be bonus, unless you had to actually deal with the weather. I can imagine all kinds of things to do being temporarily trapped in a big warm house. What are some of your favorite snow days?

At my undergraduate university, they quit taking snow days because way back in the 1960s some kids with nothing to do threw a snow ball with an embedded rock through the window of a pickup truck, and the person in the truck shot the kid. So, the university did not take a single snow day until.....25 years later we got a once on 30-40 year snow in early April. The snow caught everyone in our area by surprise, and the university treated us to the first snow day in many, many years. Additionally, when living in Amarillo, TX we once got 8 inches of snow two days before Thanksgiving. This was early 90s. I was so surprised that Texas could get that much snow.

Something about a fresh layer of smooth snow just calls me. I donβt like to have to shovel my way out later, but I will take it. π€£ Have memories of going sledding with friends, and skiing in New York, my senior year, even though I wasnβt good at skiing. But a nice snowy evening, curled up with a good friend and good food, and a fireplace, canβt get much better than that.
