Whiskey Wednesday
Added 2021-02-25 03:59:45 +0000 UTCI'm taking liberties and making today Gluhwein Wednesday since I'm in the snow this week! Gluhwein is mulled wine, which, if some of you don't know, is wine heated with sugar and spices and is drunk warm as a traditional winter drink in some countries, especially Germany and Austria. Some say that a ski holiday without mulled wine is like a ski holiday without snow! I've heard drinking mulled wine in a cozy mountain bar up on the slopes while heavy snow falls outside or in a lively local cafΓ© in your favorite ski resort after a day of skiing or snowboarding (pre-covid), has to be pretty high on the list of favorite things about a ski vacation. Hopefully, we can get back to that again soon!
Life is good up in the mountains! I've had a great couple days of skiing and can't wait to get back out there tomorrow. The days have been cold, but sunny. It started snowing this afternoon and more is expected tonight, so I'm looking forward to some powder on the slopes in the morning. πΏ

St Anton is beautiful little alpine town with great skiing and a lot of off piste. It's got a lively apres ski scene which starts late afternoon so you can dip in and out as the mood takes you, you should come over x

JΓ€gertee (based on spiced rum) was more popular and will bring a flush to your cheeks and put a smile on your face. The locals also do Jagermeister shots, they gather round a table with individual small bottles which they rattle on the table while starting a low chant building to a 'whoa !' over a couple of seconds and then down the contents in one... the Austrians like to have a good time and enjoy life !
