Cuban stockings, patten leather pumps and Redbreast Whiskey. Not sure it can get any better! ;-). This Redbreast Lustau Edition was introduced in late 2016. It is initially matured in a combination of American and European oak casks for 9 to 12 years, before being transferred over to first fill Oloroso Sherry casks from Bodegas Lustau for a year. I definitely noticed that it was rich and a bit spicy. While I didn't notice much of a sherry influence in the aroma, I did notice it upon tasting it.
I'm still learning to appreciate the single pot stills because they can be a bit complex for me. This is the third Redbreast I've tried and I'm still partial to the 21 so far. In any case, it's still a great whiskey and a great way to break up the week.
Cheers!
