I had another idea, Jeremy. What about stuff like risers or other section dividers, and other one-off "ear candy" kind of stuff in general. What types, when you use them, why, etc.

The “glue”/bus compression topic was also very relevant for that. I had heard about using compression for that purpose and should have clarified “given volume changes alone don’t help.” Possible future video topic: “mastering isn’t what most people think it is” 😂

Stuff like, what you're listening for when tuning repeat length and time and volume, when to sync to tempo and when not to sync, which parts to apply delay to, how it interacts with other effects (eg reverb).

I’ve always been a little intimidated by outboard gear style compressor plugins without the visual feedback, but that bus compressor sounded great. I guess that leads to another question: is there any instance where using outboard gear is “better” or offers something that a plugin emulation couldn’t? Lastly, I’d love to see this kind of video where you dig into the mysteries of mastering that goes beyond just limiting. Thank you for the is format. It’s really fantastic.
