General Update #12

Greetings spacefarers!

As usual, today we give you some news about both games.

Silent Echo

We've made some really good progress on the next update and there are two topics of note we will talk about today.

Silent Echo - Exclusive Rewards

First, as you may have noticed in the above picture, there is a few new things for our lovely Agent 36. In the next update, you will be able to claim three exclusive ingame rewards at the new vending machine located in the break room using special codes.

These codes will be available in the new "ingame-benefits" channel on our discord server as there's going to be more and more of them as the game develops and we do not want to have them scattered across many patreon posts.

If you have not yet joined the server I highly recommend to join it as you can find all the up to date codes in a single place for both games rather than digging through patreon. We also often post exclusive previews of in development content that often aren't shown on patreon.

The next update will ship with three exclusive items. All of these items will have unique acquisition scenes with their own lore.

The first one is the Raven Makeup Kit that makes use of the newly implemented cosmetic slot, giving Agent 36 a dark and smokey look.

The second is the Warrior Nun outfit, a special outfit that comes in both normal and slime variants. In its normal variant, the outfit has a special trait that makes it inherit all of the Aegis Armor upgrades, making it just as tough!

The third item... we'll leave it as a surprise!

Silent Echo - Perk System

The last feature we had to add to the game in this patch is now implemented. The perk system is a collection of benefits that you can obtain for your companions through special quests or events, granting special bonuses for the entire squad.

They serve as an additional reward for going the extra mile in exploring the game and as an alternative way for power progression that does not require spending resin.

In this update, two perks will be available in Chapter 1, one for Ava and one for Lina. We won't be adding more to Chapter 1 beyond these two, instead you'll be able to find more of them in the next chapters of Silent Echo.

Starwatch Academy

Work continues on the 0.4.0 patch for Starwatch as well, and we've already talked about how it's going to be a gamechanger. This time around, we want to tell you a little about why.

First and foremost is the porting of combat, and squad members system from Silent Echo across to Starwatch. This patch has us leaving the safe confines of the Academy for the broader universe, and as you explore desert and jungle worlds in search of adventure and riches, you'll quickly come to see how sheltered of a life you've been living thus far.

Secondly is the scale of content we're looking at introducing. At the Academy, we've had somewhat set in stone locations, with interactions that flow alongside them as reasonably as possible for a game of this nature. With 0.4.0 however, we've got a new chance to look at the universe of Starwatch, and see how things are like out in the wild. Forest clearings, tribal camps, forgotten ruins, secret bases and more are all on the menu for new exploration opportunities.

Finally, the story of Starwatch Academy is being fleshed out even further, with new encounters and hidden intrigues coming to light as you continue to explore our ever expanding playground.
