Leslye Headland (director of The Acolyte) won't direct Netflix’s ‘THE SEVEN HUSBANDS OF EVELYN HUGO’ film adaptation.
The book is really erotic; it follows EVELYN HUGO, a fictional Hollywood icon, who tells her life story to a reporter. Evelyn Hugo was married to many men and also had sexual relationships with women as well; she is bisexual. The book mentions some explicit scenes, but the descriptions of the sexual acts are not graphic.
EVELYN HUGO knows how to get things, and she uses her beauty to seduce many men and sleep with them. The book also has underage relationships, which makes this book very sensitive, although I am pretty sure Netflix won't go there.
In the book, EVELYN HUGO has a serious lesbian relationship with fellow actress Celia, who becomes jealous of Evelyn because she films explicit sex scenes in movies without her permission.
The book mentions scenes like these throughout, and it's a good read.
But now the director has left the project, it will be interesting to see who will join now, and also there's no announcement of the cast; there were rumors, and fans were drooling over the rumors when they heard that Selena Gomez will play Evelyn Hugo, but nothing is confirmed yet.
But I really do hope Netflix casts some A-list, well-known Hollywood actresses so fans like us can enjoy it more.
