Epic The Musical "The Ithica Saga" FULL Reaction!

I'm so sad the Epic the Musical journey has come to an end... well sort of. I'm still going to react to other animatics, but this is the end of the blind reactions to the songs. Such a beautifully done animatic. It sure put me through the five stages of grief at times. Jorge is such a talented individual and I look forward to his future work!

Epic The Musical "The Ithica Saga" FULL Reaction!

You should watch the live reaction the cast did. For the release of the ithaca saga, the cast or those who could make it flew to Ithaca and livestreamed the entire musical. Their animatics are a bit more professional when they start up, but really cool to see jorge and the cast together

I think for me, the whole bed in thing wasn't too double check he was her husband. It kind of worked on two levels; 1) in all of the Odyssey, Penelope is the only person as clever as Odysseus. 2). He spends half the song going 'im not your husband any more, that guy died or was so changed that he doesn't exist anymore', and her trick with the bed was a 'hey idiot, you're still the same guy who left, so don't say such dumb shit'.

In the Odyssey, Athena asked Helios to delay the dawn so Odysseus and Penelope can have longer to reconnect.

So the exchange between Odysseus and Athena hits hard for me, because Athena's invitation of "let's make the world a better place" just feels so relevant. And Ody's response of, "look, I don't know if that's even possible, and even if it is, it would take far more than my remaining years to pull it off" feels SO close to home looking at the world today 😭 But then also, the fact he chooses the chance at joy (chance, because at that point he doesn't know yet if Penelope will have him) I feel like is just as much a way of rebelling against the "old world order"/rule of ruthlessness as going back out into the world to try and change it, because joy is rebellion in the face of those who want us to be miserable. And I think Athena knows that, which is why you can hear that smile/smirk in her voice when she says "very well." Also because she gets to see her friend happy finally. Clearly that too. 😂

Omg your tear soaked shirt by the end of it! 🤣 Same though! ❤️ "I Can't Help But Wonder" always gets me. I just welcomed my little girl into the world three months ago. I can't imagine missing out in the first twenty years of her life like Odysseus had to with Telemachus. Tears every damn time I listen to it! Thank god for the happy ending. This man and his family deserved it! I love this musical so so much. What a masterpiece. All the musicians and artists are so talented. Can't wait for more from Jorge 😊❤️

Since you kept mentioning Penelope ruling the kingdom solo: IDK about Epics lore, but in the Odyssey, it was Laertes (Odys dad) who was ruling while Odysseus was gone. It was only when his strength and authority grew weaker in his old age that the suitors began to truly seize power by trying to gain Penelope's hand in marriage. Because of how misogynistic ancient greece could be, Penelope was never going to have the authority to rule Ithica solo. Telemachus, interesting enough, would not have been able to be crowned either. Because of the customs and traditions, he needed the support of the people to be crowned, and he did not have that. Telemachus' diplomatic missions were actually from Athena for three specific reasons: Get him out of Ithica for his safety, Train him, and so he can search for his father.
