2024-08-27 18:18:18 +0000 UTCOh and BTW in case you didn't know, both Anne Bonney and Mary Reed were historical queer pirates who sailed under Calico Jack. Anne was married to him and from what we can tell they seemed to have had a poly thing going on.

2024-08-27 16:23:16 +0000 UTCI think between Ed's upbringing Izzy, Calico Jack, Hornigold and now Anne and Mary, the darker aspects of Ed are starting to make lot more sense. You pointed out last episode how people with abusive childhoodd, even when they realize it is abuse and don't want to reproduce it, might not know how to not be abusive and have to relearn as adults. It was even more extreme for Ed since he fled from the abuse of his father straight into culture of abuse of regular pirating in general. It's questionable whether he's ever been exposed to healthy relationships before the start of the show
