Hi, This is Muchi.


I wrote about KAKIGOORI in my last diary and I immediately ate many kinds of KAKIGOORI.🍧

This is KAKIGOORI with syrup of molasses and served with a Japanese sweet called warabimochi.


This one is covered with green tea syrup. It is served with dumplings and Anko (azuki bean jam) on the side.


This one is simply covered with only brown sugar syrup.


This time, many of them were flavored with brown sugar syrup. (This is because it is often not accompanied by other calorie-dense foods.)

All of these KAKIGOORI are from the stores in my hometown where I was born and raised. It has been a tradition in my hometown since sometime in the summer for every store to sell their own version of kakigoori. In recent years, we have hit some of the highest temperatures in Japan, and perhaps this is why.


The reason I was in my hometown was not to go eat KAKIGOORI...but to get some landscape photos for reference.






The city where Itsuha-Chan and his friends live has a similar scene.

I am sure it is similar because it is a standard scene for an old regional city with easy access to the five major cities in Japan.
