Watching table tennis is one of my hobbies, and the World Table Tennis Championships started today.
I have the impression that there are many strong Asian and European table tennis players, but the men's game is very exciting, especially with the appearance of world-class players from the U.S. and Brazil in recent years.
In Japan, table tennis seems to be a sport for the dull, the quiet, and the otaku (often referred to as "inkya" in Japan these days). How about in other countries?
I played table tennis until I was in my first year of high school, and I feel that it is a very luxurious and enriching time to play a game that is not possible without an opponent. Especially after I became an adult, I feel this way even more so.
On the other hand, I love the fact that I can enjoy training and creative activities alone!
