real pencil test

the problem is, the one i want is (Epson expression line) starts at 2k and goes up to 4k and i am not sure i am going to do enough traditional medium to justify that cost (the scanner has a scan area of 11" by 17")
now it could be a "chicken and egg" type argument. where i don't do enough traditional mediums to justify buying a scanner because i don't have a scanner to help justify spending more time on traditional mediums.
i know Mustek has a much cheaper A3 sized scanner but the reviews i have seen on all their products have not been good

oh i already have a multi printer like that. the thing is i cannot get any decent quality from my scans on it. it blows out all the colors and any of the subtle details. with the dedicated art scanners i could get more details and closer real life colors then in my jack of all trades printer/scanner. there are art quality 8 1/2 by 11 scanners but i would really like the 11 by 17 because i would be able to scan large images without having to do multiple scans and merge them in photoshop.

2020-05-09 00:11:21 +0000 UTCIt's really neat, but no, paying that much for a scanner is crazy... i would pay that much for an A3 laser office printer/fax WITH an A3 format scanner (A3 scanners are about 12x17 inches, so what you said), not for the scanner alone without attached printer/fax(/coffe-machine/massage-parlour/secretary 😂👍💖).
