i am trying to use color more actively then the passive way i have used it in the past
almost all my work to me has a "dull" feel to it and i am tired of that
or more accurately i am tired of not being deliberate and in control of my color pallet. i want it to be an expression rather then a chore
so lot more vids to watch and learn from and i will be redoing the last 3 folios (deer taur, xeno woman and brightwing) so i can give you all a much better product

I think the problem is that with animals, especially land mammals, most of the skin/fur colors have to be "earthen" in flavour. So you can put more variation by playing with backgrounds or by using "weird" stuff like birds reptiles insects aliens or whatever. You work mainly with porn/erotic nudes and try to use real life counterparts. Which is also why many furries like to use idiotic fur patterns. I agree that doing the same "earth flavored" colors over and over dulls the mind as you just stated. And at one point even fur patterns are not enough any more. If you do not want to shake your animal base since... Well... Let's face it. In this fandom land mammals, especially felines and canines are what brings in the dough. So... If you do not want to shake the animal base start working on jewelry and body paint as well as backgrounds as i suggested above. Or start doing heavy research on weird real animal colors and see if you find something you like. Personally i still say birds need some love too and ... Well... Aggretsuko made me find out about secretary birds which are ridiculously photogenic even for non furry stuff. ๐คฃ But then again they are white and black with yellow/orange eye highlights. Sooo... Not really glaring. ๐ค
