Notes & Planning for “Oracle’s Ordeal”

Yes, I actually do some research for the dumb shit I write. This one in particular; our protagonist is a canon disabled character ad I didn’t want to handle it carelessly. Yeah, It’s just dumb fun, but representation matters, even in smutty fanfiction. I also obviously also tried to find other Oracle centric fanfics but was surprised when I didn’t find much, so I thought it was about time the “””genre””” had a differently-abled heroine!

When writing about something you don’t experience yourself, like disability, the best course of action is often to seek out first-hand accounts. The people who know the most about it ARE the people who live it. Having said that, I don’t have the motherfucking nerve to reach out to someone with SCI out of the blue to ask them to consult on my pulp BDSM story. I don’t know, that seems weird? Creepy? A bit invasive? (If you ARE someone who fits this description and you read my story, I’d LOVE to hear from you!)

I used THIS article to work out the age difference between Barbara and Tim. I’ve always loved the older woman, younger man dynamic so I was happy to learn that I was right on the money! Also, this is all according to Grant Morrison, my favourite comic book writer so that’s all the validation I need!

3 quick things since I'm reposting this: 

1. I've decided to make this post public so that people can see what posts like this will be like.

2. I've learned how to actually post pictures instead of having them as attachments (yes I'm dumb, shut up)
