I've never written stuff like this before, but I’m excited to share something a little different with you all today — the first chapter of my new light novel, Midnight Carnival!

What is this?
Midnight Carnival is the story concept for our next game, which we plan to begin developing next year.
Before jumping straight into game development, I wanted to take the time to really flesh out the story, the world, and the tone — and what better way to do that than by writing it as a light novel first?

What’s it about?
In short:
A man haunted by regret finds himself entering through a mysterious red door… and into a seductive, festive, and dangerously twisted place known as the Midnight Carnival.
If you've played Horror Mansion you already know this but: it’s a surreal place ruled by Binky the Clown — a fourth-wall-breaking jokester with a taste for human essence — and inhabited by sexy clown girls.

But the real story here is about temptation, regret, and redemption.
Our protagonist’s personal demons are as dangerous as the literal ones he’ll face inside the Carnival.
Will he break free? Or be enslaved forever by his own desires?

This is a pilot chapter — a test run to see if you all enjoy the concept and the style!
I don't have novel writing experience at all, so this might not turn out to be any good... though, if there’s enough interest, I’ll continue writing and expanding the novel in parallel with the development of Succubus Pandemic. The goal is to develop a solid narrative foundation so that when we do start building the game next year, the world and characters will already feel alive.
